PARENT EMPOWERMENT
SEMINARS
One hour sessions introducing Mental Edge philosophy and strategies
for teaching and mentoring life skills in and out of sports. Tips to
help parents understand how to express interest and involvement in
the activities of their children, allowing them to more effectively
influence positive development. Parents are invited to participate
in this process and to provide feedback.
INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT
Individuals complete a questionnaire prior to an in-person
interview. The questionnaire is designed to reveal individual
strengths and weaknesses associated with performance related
achievement and the overall quality of personal experience. After
the questionnaire and the interview are completed, the Coach will
create an initial assessment that outlines the findings. Parents are
invited to participate in this process and to provide feedback.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
Coaching staffs complete a questionnaire prior to personal
interviews. The questionnaire uncovers and reveals team dynamics,
perceived strengths and challenges for teams — all of which contain
individuals with differing personalities and skill sets. Interviews
clarify coaching roles and provide them with personality profiles of
the team for the purpose of designing practices and team experiences
to improve team function and coaching communication.
INTERMEDIATE PERFORMANCE
PACKAGE
Intended and best suited for individuals that are new to performance
mentoring. These sessions examine specific thinking patterns which
negatively impact performance and reduce the capacity for
individuals to derive enjoyment from activities. Performance
specialists establish rapport with individuals and identify self
destructive
thinking patterns and creatively make recommendations to reverse
them. Requires a 90-day commitment with minimum of two meetings a
month.
ADVANCED PERFORMANCE
SESSIONS
Intended for individuals who fall into one of two categories: The
first are those that have previously defined personal strengths and
weaknesses and are willing to be held accountable for achieving
ambitious goals. The second for individuals who are seeking to
reverse extreme patterns of self destructive behavior related to
performance and/or experience. Requires a longer term commitment,
including weekly meetings.
